Davion Guillory, 23, and Treykia Cohen, 25, have been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, following an incident which occurred at the McDonald’s restaurant located in the 128 block of E. The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office said in a statement that deputies were flagged down at the McDonald’s in order to respond to reports of an aggravated assault....

In a statement Thursday, McDonald’s said the amount it was giving Washington for his 13 franchises was “no more than what we deem a fair price for the value of the restaurants,” Cleveland.com reported. “While we were confident in the strength of our case, this resolution aligns with McDonald’s values and enables us to continue focusing on our commitments to the communities that we serve,” the company said, noting that “discrimination has no place at McDonald’s....

The lawsuit, for which the employees are seeking class-action status, alleges that the company’s actions violate state nuisance and negligence laws.
