Seattle and San Diego took the night off to show solidarity with NBA players who earlier boycotted playoff games to protest the police shooting of a Black man, Jacob Blake, in Wisconsin. 

After the game was postponed, Seattle players J.P. Crawford, Justin Dunn, Aaron Fletcher, Dee Gordon, Shed Long, Justus Sheffield and Taijuan Walker spoke out on Twitter:

Other Black MLB players posted on social media, including the Rockies’ Matt Kemp, who sat out his team’s game against the Diamondbacks.

The Brewers and Reds decided earlier Wednesday to boycott their game in Milwaukee, and the Dodgers decided to join the Giants in not playing their game in San Francisco.
