The past week has seen the floatation of a Donald Trump-alternative candidacy for the Mavs owner, which he shot down. That doesn’t mean he’s out for this election cycle, though.

Cuban, in an interview set to run Sunday on NBC’s “Meet The Press,” said he’d “absolutely” accept an appointment as — you guessed it — Hillary Clinton’s running mate in the fall. He’s a Republican, but whatever.
The full context, courtesy of NBC (and no, they haven’t released anything else from the interview):
People who aren’t interested in running for office don’t do or say stuff like this. Cuban is famous, successful, ambitious and, as the president in the “Sharknado” series, quite experienced indeed. He’s also the host of a reality TV show. Sounds like someone else.
Cuban: Absolutely. But the key would be that she’d have to go more to center. I like the fact that Senator Clinton has thought-out proposals. That’s a good thing because at least we get to see exactly where she stands. But I think Senator Sanders has dragged her a little bit too far to the left. Things like college tuition and, you know, other business elements that really, I think, could hurt the economy. If she’s willing to listen, if she’s willing to, you know, hear other sides of things, then I’m wide open to discussing it.
And really, in a post-Trump world, this is the logical next step. Don’t stop at Cuban. All NBA owners should run for president. President James Dolan, with Isiah Thomas as the Secretary of Defense — let’s get it.
