According to The Associated Press, the club would not comment on whether McGwire had joined its coaching staff.

New manager Andy Green said he has “nailed down” his coaches, but didn’t confirm or deny whether McGwire is one of them. He just repeated that the staff was “nailed down.”

McGwire has been the Dodgers’ hitting coach the past three seasons after serving in the same capacity with the Cardinals. In San Diego, he would replace Dave Roberts, who is now the Dodgers’ manager.
