Richt is reportedly set to meet with Maryland about the Terrapins’ head coaching job as early as Tuesday, according to Jeff Ermann of InsideMDSports.

The report cited an unnamed source with “knowledge of the Terps’ coaching search.”

Richt, 55, and Georgia had a mutual parting of ways Sunday after the Bulldogs finished the regular season with a 9-3 record.

Richt said Monday he would consider other coaching jobs, and as Ermann pointed out, Richt’s relationship with Maryland associate athletic director Damon Evans, who served as Georgia’s AD from 2004-10, could lure him to College Park. Richt said on his radio show Monday night, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, that five schools had contacted him about their coaching vacancies.

Richt went 145-51 at Georgia with an 83-37 mark in SEC play and a 9-5 bowl record. Because he’ll coach in Georgia’s bowl game, Richt has an opportunity for a 10th season of at least 10 wins.

Maryland is searching for a replacement for Randy Edsall, who was fired earlier this season.
