The Boston-area native was in costume as a police officer shooting a scene for his upcoming movie “Patriots Day,” The Boston Globe reported.

The film tells the story of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings and manhunt that followed, with Wahlberg starring as an investigating officer.
Wahlberg also recently filmed scenes with a SWAT team elsewhere in the Boston area, recreating the search for the bombing suspects, and later took time to sign autographs for onlookers.
The film also stars John Goodman and Oscar winner J.K. Simmons.
“There’s huge pressure to get this right, but we’re committed to doing that," Wahlberg previously told the Globe.
The movie is scheduled to open in limited release Dec. 21.
