And to set the tone, the team from Buenos Aires’ Villa Soldati neighbourhood came out for kick off clad in superhero masks, with everyone from Darth Vader to Spiderman on display. 

The gambit seemed to work, as Arsenal were held 1-1 in the last-64 game played on neutral territory in the Estadio Ciudad de Caseros. 

Franco Fragapane gave the Primera club the lead, before Julio Serrano tied up the game for Sacachispas 77 minutes in to force a penalty shoot-out. 

There, Arsenal’s nerve failed them as their rivals from the Primera C Metropolitana triumphed 6-5 to mark a feat worthy of Superman, Ironman and the Joker rolled into one.
