Mbappe doesn’t turn 19 until December 20, but has already established himself as one of world football’s leading talents.

After making a huge impact with Monaco last term, Paris Saint-Germain paid £81 million to secure the striker’s services this season.

Djemba-Djemba, who played for the Red Devils in 2003 when Ronaldo arrived as a teenager, says he believes Mbappe is ahead of even the Portugal great at this stage.

“I find Mbappe a notch above Cristiano Ronaldo at this age. I find Mbappe a bit above,” Djemba-Djemba told SFR Sport.

“At the same age, Mbappe has a little more experience. But for me, it’s the same class.”

After starring for United, Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid and has established himself as one of football’s all-time greats, winning four Ballons d’Or with a fifth likely on the way.

Mbappe has eight goals in all competitions for PSG so far in 2017-18, including Saturday’s instinctive equaliser against Strasbourg.
