Killjoy was announced at the end of June, and since then her arrival has come with controversy. While Valorant players are excited about a new agent, some are skeptical about one of her abilities potentially being overpowered. Killjoy has four main abilities, which we’ll cover more in depth below, but the one drawing the most attention is her turret.

Turrets have been in video games before, but they typically come with a weakness. They were strong when introduced in Fortnite last year, but the glaring weakness was that it’s easy to get sniped while using it. The problem with Valorant’s turret is that Killjoy can access it from a distance.
This means you get all the benefits of the turret without the risk.
We’ll have to wait and see whether this is overpowered once Killjoy actually enters the game. But the fact that this has brought controversy before her release is not a good sign.
Killjoy abilities in Valorant
Killjoy has four main abilities in Valorant: AlarmBot, Turret, Nanoswarm and Lockdown. Killjoy’s character is based on tactics, according to her profile, and she says, “I love robots but that doesn’t mean I am one. That tech is only as good as my skill. So analyze, then improve.”
Killjoy is from Germany and her tagline is, “Relax, I’ve already thought of everything.”
Once you complete here Agent Contract, you’ll receive three sprays, two titles, one Gun Buddy and one Player Card.
Turret
We already covered this a bit as the turret is Killjoy’s most controversial ability. Despite some people being worried, the test video for the turret doesn’t make it seem too overpowered. We already see the turret shoot the enemy with two bursts, but it still took three shots from the player for the elimination.
The turret has 125 HP and its damage is as follows:
8 DMG (close) 6 DMG (20 meters) 3 DMG (35 meters)
AlarmBot
This is an interesting ability as the bot doesn’t do any damage to the person, but will simply allow you to do double damage if you’re able to get it to work properly. Getting someone within range will be slightly challenging, but it’s a useful ability.
Nanoswarm
If you’re able to use this ability perfectly, then it’s a nice, quick way to get an elimination.
Lockdown
The perfect ability to use when planting a spike.
