Nobody won the Mega Millions jackpot so it has rolled over and the grand prize in Saturday night’s draw is now worth an estimated $96 million with a cash option of $76 million.

However, in last night’s draw, a ticket purchased in Rhode Island matched five numbers and won $1 million. If the player had used the Megaplier, their prize would have been tripled to $3 million as the Megaplier was X3 last night. Additionally, nine people won $10,000 each in last night’s draw by matching four numbers and the Mega Ball.

Nearly 200 players won $500 last night by matching four numbers and 32 of these winners used the Megaplier to win $1,500. More than 500 players won $200 by matching three numbers and the Mega Ball and more than 100 of these players tripled their prizes to $600 with the Megaplier.

Hundreds of thousands of players won smaller prizes in last night’s Mega Millions lottery. More than 345,000 players won prizes ranging from $2 to $30 by matching various combinations of numbers from just the Mega Ball to three numbers using the Megaplier.

The next Mega Millions lottery drawing will take place on Friday, at 11 p.m. ET.

How to enter Mega Millions

To enter the Mega Millions lottery, purchase a ticket from a licensed lottery retailer up to around one to two hours before the draw, though sales deadlines vary by jurisdiction.

Choose five numbers between one and 70 for the white balls and one number between one and 25 for the gold Mega Ball. Players can choose the numbers themselves or have the lottery terminal select them randomly.

There is the option to add the Megaplier to the Mega Millions lottery ticket for an additional $1 per play. The Megaplier number is randomly selected just before the drawing and will either be X2, X3, X4, or X5. If a player wins a prize while using the Megaplier, their prize will be multiplied. The Megaplier number is chosen from a pool of 15 balls, five are marked with X2, six with X3, three with X4 and one with X5.

Additionally, some lottery jurisdictions allow players the option of playing Just the Jackpot, which costs $3 for two entries into the drawing but with the possibility of winning the jackpot or nothing. The Mega Millions lottery can be played in 45 states plus Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah do not participate in the lottery, so if residents from those states would like to enter the Mega Millions or Powerball drawings, they must purchase a ticket from a lottery jurisdiction, and some jurisdictions allow players to purchase lottery tickets online.
