Nobody won the jackpot so the money will roll over to Friday night’s draw where it will be worth an estimated $231 million with a cash option of $184.9 million.

However, last night, four players from California, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia each won $1 million by matching five numbers. None of the Match 5 winners used the Megaplier, which was X2 in Tuesday night’s draw, so nobody doubled their prize to $2 million.

Additionally, 25 players each won $10,000 by matching four numbers and the Mega Ball, and two players doubled their prize to $20,000 using the Megaplier.

Nearly 700 players won $500 in Tuesday night’s draw by matching four numbers and nearly 200 players won $1,000 by matching four numbers and using the Megaplier. More than 1,200 players won $200 by matching three numbers and the Mega Ball and more than 200 players won $400 using the Megaplier.

More than 56,000 players won $10 by matching either three numbers or two numbers and the Mega Ball, and more than 11,000 players used the Megaplier to double their prizes to $20.

Hundreds of thousands of players won smaller prizes in Tuesday night’s Mega Millions draw. Nearly 160,000 players won $4 by matching one number and the Mega Ball, and more than 30,000 won $8 using the Megaplier.

More than 367,000 won $2 by matching just the Mega Ball and more than 70,000 players won $4 using the Megaplier.

How to claim a prize on the Mega Millions lottery

The Mega Millions Illinois lottery has extended the deadline in which a player can claim a prize during the coronavirus pandemic. The lottery is allowing players with prizes that were set to expire between March 16 and May 31 to claim the prizes until June 30.

Illinois Lottery Acting Director Harold Mays said in a statement: “Players usually have 12 months to claim their prize. During this difficult time, we wanted to extend the prize expiration date to provide players an extra opportunity to claim a prize that has been forgotten or misplaced.”

The news comes with a call for an Illinois prize winner, who purchased a $2 million dollar ticket that had been due to expire, to come forward and claim their winnings. The winner bought their Mega Millions ticket from the Mobile station located in Joliet at 1600 New Lenox Road for the April 5, 2019 draw, when the winning numbers were 8, 22, 24, 38, 64, and the Mega Ball was 21.

“Considering many of us are spending a lot of time at home right now, if you bought a Mega Millions ticket in Joliet around this time last year—now is the time to check under your couch cushions, in your desk drawers or in your glove box to see if you’ve got the winning lottery ticket tucked away somewhere,” said Mays.
