According to the Mega Millions website, the winning numbers were 3, 24, 29, 42 and 47. The Mega Ball was 13 and the Megaplier was 2x.

Unfortunately, nobody won the jackpot from Friday’s draw, meaning the top prize rolls over to the next Mega Millions draw on Tuesday. To win the top prize, players have to purchase a ticket that matches all five white numbers and the golden Mega Ball.

There were no winners of the second biggest prize—worth $1 million—either, in which players must match all five white balls. The prize was worth $2 million with a 2x Megaplier ticket.

Despite the fact no one took home the top prizes, there were several winners of the third biggest prize. Nineteen people matched four white balls and the gold Mega Ball to win $10,000. Furthermore, 6 people purchased 2x Megaplier tickets, doubling their winnings to $20,000.

There were more than 400,000 other winning tickets from Friday’s draw, with prizes ranging from $2 to $500.

Two-hundred-and-forty-one people matched four white balls to win the $500 prize, while 47 people doubled their money with a Megaplier ticket, winning $1,000.

The $200 prize was won by 758 people who matched three white balls and the gold Mega Ball. Meanwhile, 15,329 people won a $10 prize by matching three white balls, while 114,790 people won the $4 prize. Finally, 257,523 people took home $2.

The largest ever Mega Millions jackpot was won on October 23, 2018, with the lucky winner taking home $1.586 billion prize.

What is Mega Millions?

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery that first launched on August 31, 1996. One of the most popular lotteries in the country, tickets are sold in 45 states, as well as the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Draws are held every Tuesday and Friday at WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia. Jackpots used to always start at $40 million, but since the coronavirus pandemic this has been reduced to $20 million.

Five white balls are drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 70, with one gold Mega Ball drawn from a set of balls numbered 1 through 25. With nine different ways to win a prize, your chances of winning at least $2 are 1 in 24, according to the Mega Millions website.

If you are a lucky winner, you will have between 90 days and one year to redeem your ticket, depending on local rules and regulations. All jackpot winners are entitled to either a cash option or an annuity option of an initial payout followed by 29 annual payments that are each five percent larger than the previous ones. All prizes are subject to income taxes.
