With the game tied at 60 and time wounding down in regulation, the Maryland sophomore took a series of dribbles before stepping into a near 30-footer from the top of the key in the face of the Badgers’ Zak Showalter to lift his team to a key Big Ten victory Saturday.
Trimble finished with a game-high 21 points on 9-for-17 shooting to go along with five assists. The victory improved the Terrapins win streak to nine and upped their overall record to 15-1.
Robert Carter put up a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Diamond Stone also added double-figure scoring with 11 off the bench.
