Naturally, Mets fans were . . . suspicious of that assessment. They’ve heard this song and dance too many times before. The Mets have, um, a reputation for getting injury timetables wrong.
Wheeler had Tommy John surgery soon after and missed two full seasons.
We’ll see, but it wouldn’t shock anyone who roots for the Mets if that’s the case.
