MGoBlog.com is reporting that Michigan QB Wilton Speight suffered a broken collarbone against Iowa and is out for the remainder of the regular season. Speight suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of last Saturday’s 14-13 loss at Iowa. MGoBlog reports through a source that Speight could return for the bowl game. Backup John O’Korn would be the presumed starter. Earlier on Monday, head coach Jim Harbaugh said he was unsure of Speight’s status for the Indiana game with no comment about the future....

A number of restaurant owners have opted for the latter, including Amy Heikkinen, co-owner of Café Rosetta in Calumet. The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) has now said that the illness is canine parvovirus—a fatal disease if left untreated. Most dogs affected were only 2 years old or younger. The department also found that all the affected dogs were unvaccinated. Canine parvovirus is spread through a dog’s feces, either directly or indirectly, yet it is entirely preventable with the right vaccination. Dogs usually have to be hospitalized for it to be treated, because, if untreated, it has a 90 percent death rate....
