Ethan Anewishki, from Oceana County, was taken to Trinity Health Shelby Hospital and then airlifted by Aero Med helicopter to Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital after his mother shot him at about 6:40 a.m. on July 25, according to an MLive report. His 38-year-old mother, Melissa Anewishki, was confirmed dead at the scene after shooting herself. Police have now confirmed both of the deaths. Oceana County Sheriff Craig Mast initially described the incident as a “nightmare situation” and said the child was in an extremely critical condition at the hospital before his death....
