Twitter has deactivated just four out of 55 accounts that data analysis company Bot Sentinel said were set up purely to abuse the Duchess of Sussex. The company identified a further 28 that served to amplify the messages of the main accounts in what it described as a “hate network.” The company’s research was based on an analysis of 114,000 posts and suggested the 83 accounts produced 70 percent of the hostile messages about Meghan....

Before her election to the House, Greene made comments aligning herself with conspiracy theories, including that the 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida was a “false flag” event. Greene also allegedly expressed support for social media comments calling for violence toward Democrats before taking office. Oz, a celebrity heart surgeon who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump, trails Fetterman in recent polls as they compete for a key Senate seat in Pennsylvania being vacated by retiring Republican Pat Toomey. In August, the Oz campaign released a list of concessions the Republican candidate would make for a September debate....

The Chargers activated their star running back Saturday and will play him in a limited role Sunday against the Dolphins, USA Today reported, citing unidentified sources. This means Austin Ekeler, who has stepped up the first three weeks of the season as Gordon held out from the team because of his contract, will remain the primary tailback and get the most touches. Justin Jackson, who is averaging 7.9 yards per carry as the secondary running back, also is expected to play Sunday....

Botham Jean was killed by officer Amber Guyger in 2018 when she mistakenly entered his apartment thinking it was hers and shot Jean, believing he was an intruder. The memorial at Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, where Jean graduated in 2016, shows Jean and “his legendary smile,” Harding President David Burks said, according to the AP. “I think it’s significant—and, of course, it was intentional that we planned it for today—that today would have been Botham’s 30th birthday, September 29th, 2021,” Burks said....

The concern about possible future prosecution for war crimes–and that it might even apply to Bush adminstration officials themselves–is contained in a crucial portion of an internal January 25, 2002, memo by White House counsel Alberto Gonzales obtained by NEWSWEEK. It urges President George Bush declare the war in Afghanistan, including the detention of Taliban and Al Qaeda fighters, exempt from the provisions of the Geneva Convention. In the memo, the White House lawyer focused on a little known 1996 law passed by Congress, known as the War Crimes Act, that banned any Americans from committing war crimes–defined in part as “grave breaches” of the Geneva Conventions....

The incident occurred on Sunday night in southwest Memphis in the 400 block of Tonawanda Cove in Whitehaven, according to a Fox 13 report. Police were told by the boy’s mother, Tinesha Jackson, that the AR-15 firearm belonged to her friend, Tedrick Butler, who was at the home earlier that day. She said he had left the firearm in her bedroom. The victim and his four-year old brother were left in the care of their uncle, when Jackson and Butler left the home to get food....

Precious Achiuwa committed to play for the Tigers next season on Friday, according to an ESPN report. The 6-8 small forward is considered to be the nation’s 14th-best prospect in the class of 2019, according to 247Sports. He will join a very talented group, as Memphis has this year’s top-ranked recruiting class. The Tigers have now acquired two five-star recruits in Achiuwa and James Wiseman, who is the top prospect in the country....

Now, nearly a month after the melee, Memphis has identified 12 Tigers involved and handed down suspensions, according to The Commercial Appeal. University officials announced suspensions ranging from practices, scrimmages, half of a game to two games, but did not specify which players were punished. Those names will be released at the start of the 2015 season. Memphis, BYU and the American Athletic Conference reviewed the film from the fight....
