Miami’s notorious Channel 7 broadcasts possibly the scariest -some say sleaziest –newcasts in the country. For eight hours of its programming day, “South Florida’s News Station” covers murders, fires, rapes, stalkers, drive-bys, wild dogs, “Kids Who Kill,” “The One-Hour Orgasm.” It’s CNN meets “Hard Copy,” tabloid sensationalism so intensely lurid that nine south Florida hotels decided this month to screen out 7’s signal, fearing its crime-packed newscasts might further freak out already spooked tourists....

A leaked U.S. government report based on a July inspection of the park found that the diets of nine dolphins at the Dolphin Harbor attraction were cut earlier this year “for the purpose of ensuring the animals performed for the guest interactions.” This led to some of the dolphins losing a lot of weight and to an increase in aggressive behavior, according to the 10-page report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, which was shared online by animal rights activists PETA....

Florida found a way to end the game with a higher score than Miami. We don’t say “win the game” because honestly, it appeared neither team really wanted to win. A 35-year-old woman who lives there with her husband has been arrested in connection with the child’s disappearance, with police saying that further arrests are likely. Sarah Wondra, who lives just minutes away from the Vaughan family with her husband, Stacey Wondra, has been accused of failing to notify authorities about a death. A TikTok video she posted on the social media site revealed that she had stuck Michael Vaughan’s missing person flyer, which featured several photos of him, to her kitchen refrigerator....

Heat assistant Juwan Howard has agreed to a five-year deal to become the Wolverines’ head coach. The news comes after the school interviewed Howard for the job on Tuesday. Manke has reopened his barbershop in violation of Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s executive order shutting down all non-essential businesses amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The business owner first opened his shop last Monday because he said he could no longer survive without making an income. He also felt as if the social distancing afforded by his shop’s barber chairs and his use of face masks and hand sanitizer made the shop safe enough to operate without potentially spreading the COVID-19....
