El Tri will play in Santa Clara, California’s Levi’s Stadium on March 23, then travel to Texas to play in Arlington’s AT&T Stadium on March 27, Soccer United Marketing announced. The opponents are yet to be announced. It is the third time they’ll be at Levi’s Stadium and their first visit since a disastrous quarterfinal against Chile in the 2016 Copa America Centenario, which Mexico lost, 7-0. Things have been better at the home of the Dallas Cowboys, where Mexico is 5-0-1 in their seven previous visits....

World Cup qualification is within reach for Mexico despite sitting third in the qualifying table with just one match remaining on Wednesday. At a Wednesday press conference in Albertville, France, it was also revealed that the slopes on which Schumacher was skiing before his crash were marked in accordance with French law. Michigan Power Outages In the region of 200,000 customers in Michigan are experiencing power outages, with DTE Energy and Consumers Energy the most impacted. DTE Energy DTE Energy says that as of 6 a.m. local time, approximately 149,000 customers were without power. Power Outage US reports that Wayne County was the most impacted, with 66,000 customers without power, while Oakland had 41,000 affected customers, and Macomb had 19,000....

The threats were made by protesters who planned to attend a “Judgement Day” protest at the capitol. The protesters ostensibly oppose Whitmer’s statewide shutdown orders meant to slow the spread of coronavirus. Dozens of posts in private invitation-only Facebook groups called for Whitmer to be hanged, lynched, shot, beaten or beheaded. One suggested crowdfunding sources to hire a hitman to kill her. “We haven’t had any bloodshed yet, but the populous [sic] is counting to three, and yesterday was day two,” wrote Dave Meisenheimer in a 385,000-member Facebook group called Michiganders Against Excessive Quarantine....

The legislature appealed the Thursday ruling by Court of Claims Judge Cynthia Stephens, who found that Whitmer had the authority to extend the emergency order on April 30 under a 1945 state law. The legislature also requested that the case skip the Court of Appeals and be taken up directly by the state’s Supreme Court. In comments issued following the Thursday ruling, State Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey issued a statement in which he said the Republicans felt “vindicated” in the judge’s ruling....

Speaking to WXYZ 7 Action News in Detroit, Whitmer said Michigan faced a “unique problem” being the tenth largest state in the country while having the third highest number of confirmed coronavirus deaths. The 29-year-old man, who has not been named, was arrested in the early hours of Sunday morning, after deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office were called to a home in Orion Township, Michigan, the Detroit Free Press reported. The sheriff’s office said a 60-year-old man, the suspect’s uncle, had gone to his younger sister’s aid after he heard the woman’s cry for help at a property in the 4500 block of Rohr Road....

Kurt Duncan, 56, pleaded not guilty to all 125 misdemeanor charges during his arraignment ­in Chippewa County’s 91st District Court on Wednesday, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) said in a news release. Duncan, of Pickford, is accused of illegally killing 18 wolves over 18 months, as well as killing and disposing of three bald eagles. Wolves are protected in Michigan and are on the federal endangered species list....

McBride was arrested in February 2020 after his father came home and found his mother-in-law, Cecilia Gibson, beheaded in their shared home in Bedford Township, Michigan. The 45-year-old pleaded not guilty, and no forensic evidence linked him to the murder weapons; but it took the jury only about two hours to return with a conviction. Gibson was found dead early in the morning of February 16, 2020, in the family’s living room, according to WDIV, and police believe McBride became enraged during an argument with her about his children....

Southeast Michigan Militia, which has more than 200 members, will be armed. However, its leader Mike Lackomar said he did not “anticipate” a repeat of the violence that took place outside the U.S. Capitol last week, which left five people dead. Speaking to Fox News, Lackomar said: “I don’t anticipate anything like that happening again in the near future without a particular amount of provocation.” He added that there were a number of reasons for the protest....
